They’re one of the hottest new parenting teams in Tinseltown, and Joel Madden and his girlfriend Nicole Richie are taking the right steps to a lasting relationship.

Not letting their parenting duties rob them of their alone time, the “Simple Life” hottie and her “Good Charlotte” rocker beau took some quality time to themselves on a stroll out on the streets of Hollywood yesterday.

Letting her long blonde locks down, Nicole looked cute and casual in a striped shirt with a leather jacket and some comfy jeans, while Joel rocked a fedora, track jacket and dark trousers.

Speaking of Joel, it sounds like he may have a chance at an acting gig coming up soon.  Rumor has it Juno writer Diablo Cody thinks he may be right for a part in a new flick.

Pete Wentz is said to be the number one choice, but you never know what may happen if they both audition.
